Migraines are the second biggest risk factor for women suffering a heart attack or stroke

Ladies who are afflicted by severe migraines supported by visual disturbances might be in an elevated chance of cardiac arrest and stroke.

Researchers have stated only high bloodstream pressure would be a bigger indicator of the stroke or cardiac arrest than migraines with aura, because the condition is famous when supported by vision problems including flashing lights.

The landmark 15-year study adopted 27,860 women, of who 1,435 had migraine with aura.

While previous research has recommended migraine with aura is related to some doubling of the chance of a stroke or cardiac arrest, nothing you've seen prior has it been named because the second greatest factor.

Study author Dr Tobias Kurth stated: 'After high bloodstream pressure, migraine with aura was the 2nd most powerful single cause of chance of cardiac arrest and strokes.

'It came in front of diabetes, current smoking, weight problems, and genealogy of early cardiovascular disease.A

Dr Kurth, from the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and also the French National Institute of Health, is another fellow from the American Academy of Neurology.

He stated the danger for migraine-affected women with aura was three occasions more than for individuals with migraines that didn't have this disturbance.

Another study launched through the same academy stated ladies who had migraines with aura and required hormonal birth control methods were more prone to have thrombus.

Both studies will be provided in the academy's annual meeting in March in North Park, California.
