Chemist Ian Hamley, who's researching using bovine collagen in wound healing, checked out the result of Matrixyl on sheets of skin cells inside a dish.

His research, released within the journal Molecular Pharmaceutics, discovered that when levels were sufficient, caffeine greatly increased the quantity of bovine collagen made.
